In the words of Steven Tyler, I'm Back in the Saddle Again.
Just working away on what seems like thousands of things! ha! Not to mention, the usual dayjob. Bits of sleep are permanently etched into my eyelashes and it will take a fork lift to remove them.
I'm done knitting the third much cooler version of the BAM13 Sweater. Hooray. I'm gonna seam it up today and see how the sucker looks. So far, Bam is thinkin' this is THE one. So that makes me happy.
Stopped in at Stitch Cafe yesterday. No funds to actually buy anything right now due to the new transmission in the van but it was still nice to touch the yarns. ;-)
Speaking of trannys..........we had to take our van back as the tranny he put in totally bit it. Bam was almost killed on the freeway cuz it slipped gear and wouldn't respond. ARGH! So now with our third tranny in there, it still ain't right. Clunks at a certain point, feels sluggish in general, and there is an awfully loud noise when you're on the freeway. I swear, I would love to live in NYC and just get by on the subway with no vehicle of my own to worry about. But now that I've said that and I've never actually done it, maybe some of my New Yawk friends will tell me I'm nuts.?
Much to our surprise, Indie 103.1 FM played a track of ours on their local show on May 23. There we were, kickin' back in Hawaii, probably asleep when they played us! Ha! We had sent them an advance copy of the cd like 3 days earlier and didn't anticipate they would play anything from it so quickly. What a great surprise!!!
On our last night in Hawaii, Bam and I went down to the beach and laid on our backs to gaze up at the stars. It looked like there were billions of stars in that sky making our smog laden skies in LA seem so pale and unfinished. But what was really cool? We saw a shooting star. Or as Bam said, it's actually a meteor, a piece of a star but I can go ahead and call it a shooting star if it makes me happy. It does indeed make me happy and YES, I did wish upon that shooting star.
