Easter Rock n Roll!

It's all goin' off at once!

Bam has seen a doc about his shoulder and had an injection and starts therapy monday.

We've gotten way more mixing of the album done. It is sounding totally fucking amazing.

I have finished the front and back of Bam's punk sweater and am gonna stitch up the collar thingy today. (dunno the technical terms of anything!)

We got a band comin' in our studio tomorrow to lay down some tracks for their demo/album.

YEAHHHHHHHHH!

And..........thanx to my lovely day job, Bam and I are being shipped off to Oahu and Hawaii for a few days at the end of May.

Wow.
NO wonder I'm tired.

I went to the knit meet the other night and that was cool, too. Loads of new faces.

Mood: Excited or maybe just spun out of my mind on caffeine.

Movies: There's a Girl In My Soup. Old flick with Goldie Hawn and Peter Sellers. They are two of my all time faves but I fell asleep cuz I'm just so worn out. I'll try to watch it tonight or today! he he.

In the meantime.......we are going to mix our record again on Friday night so this li'l chickie is very happy.

BAM13 Sweater progress report

The current obsession is this sweater.
It is my first sweater.
It is my first design.

I figure....why not jump in the deep end and try to make it myself, right?
argh.

Mainly because I could not find any patterns that made the kind of sweater I wanted to make for Bam. They were all too "Nordstrom's" style or something for my dad. Not Bam! Being a huge huge fan of Vivienne Westwood and the whole Malcolm Maclaren style of dressing the Sex Pistols....that's what I want my knitting to look like. Lots of gaping holes, raggedy, mad, punk etc etc.

I must apologize...in order to get the best light on the back piece, I had to lay it sideways so it looks kind of odd to me but the neck is at the right hand side of the pic.

It's a quite simple sweater really. The hardest part is just dealing with the two yarns together. It's enough to drive you batty.

In any event, I've got some of the Tagliatelli on hold at a shop in Santa Monica and I'm hoping it will match better than the batch I have left. I also ordered some from a gal on ebay who after careful questioning seemed to understand my dilemma about the colors and assured me that hers did not have the dreaded blue tones I'm trying to avoid.

It isn't just the mismatch,.....it's the fact that the look of it should really stay black/white/gray.
So that's the story so far.

No idea how the heck I'm gonna seam it all together?! ha!

Planning to get that Vogue Ultimate Knitting book but even after looking at it....I didn't figure out how to put together these pieces with such huge gaping stitches. Argh!

Alrighty, then. Wish me luck fellow fiber addicts.

The Smoke Clears!

Okay, ....much better today.
And the NEW KNITTY IS OUT!!!!!!!!! HOORAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

The smoke has cleared and we've decided to just move ahead with a serious doctor appointment for Bam's shoulder. I think it has gotten so bad that it was making us both feel trapped and scared. That old adage about not knowing the truth is worse than finding out what the heck is going on.

So...
KNITWISE:
Yes, I did knit myself out of a stuporous depression yesterday! Ya gotta love that.
I will take pics today of the BAM13 sweater which is REALLY coming along now.

I also need to finish the last scarf for the step chilluns so we can send the package to England. Egads!

ROCK NEWS:
Our pal from the Alice Cooper camp came by today and we had a really cool visit. Played him the newest mixes and he loved it so that was encouraging for the ole 'faith' life boat.

And.....we're going to mix more of the record tonight. :-)

Mood: happy yet again.

Confession: I wish I wouldn't post any of that misery stuff. But then, hey, it wouldn't be an honest blog would it?

Movies: Saw Bon Voyage last night. I adore french films and this was no exception. Gerard Depardieu was his usual brilliant self. This time as a Prime Minister of France in early wartime. Very cool script and an excellent escape.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind BRILLIANT. How brilliant was it? It was so brilliant I didn't even realize that it was Jim Carrey for about the first 20 minutes. At which point, I turned to my hubby in astonishment and had to whisper, "Is that Jim Carrey????" He nodded and I stared at the screen again in amazement. Oscar stuff. Very very very amazine. Charlie Kaufman, one of my FAVE writers is responsible of course for this schizo-mind-bending film. I think he has invented a genre all his own between Being John Malkovich (own the dvd), Adaptation (own the dvd) and now this. Comedy, romance, drama, Kaufmanesque. Yes, he should have his own genre category.

Argh.

Just a quick note...
I am having one of my manic days. daze.

Too depressed to write much of anything.
Feel as clever as an old pencil stuck in the backyard covered with dirty leaves.

argh.

Knitwise....I did finish the back piece of the Bam sweater. so I guess that's something isn't it?

Whew.
Can't wait for today to end so I can breathe again.
