this is a pic of me n my mom from about a week ago. since then she has lost more weight and i guess.....been 'declining'. that's the polite word the hospice uses. (and yes, i prefer that word, too.)
shit. it just sucks. when she has bouts with pain ........it just sucks.
i'm probably going out there again very very soon as she seems to not be doing too hot. hospital bed in the living room now. chair lifts, wheelchairs....they upped her pain meds and she has oxygen for the night time.
but dammit...........she looks pretty good in this pic doesn't she? yeah.........she is a tough lady. taught me pretty much everything i know about music. i played piano for her while i was there. played a bunch of old standards from her 'fake books'. stuff like 'basin street blues', 'cottage for sale', 'body and soul'...etc etc. she loved it and so did i.
well, just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely caring emails, comments and cards.
xx
I'm so sorry to hear that your momma not's doing too well right now. I've been there and I know it sucks.
As for that picture of you two, your mom is just beautiful! She really looks happy right there having her arm around you. That's one picture you'll treasure.

I'm so sorry to hear your mom is declining..the pic of you two is such a lovely picture. Your mom looks so beautiful, and it's so nice to see that even what she's been through, she's still smiling. God bless her and you, and I hope you can spend that special "mother-daughter" time with her when you can. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

You are right, she looks very beautifull and also happy. I'm sure sure she is a very strong woman.
Keep on playing piano for her she'll love it.
Give her lots of kisses from Barcelona.

Hon, your mum doesn't look sick in the picture -- you both look so strong.

You both look gorgeous -- it's easy to see where you get your beauty (inner and outer) from. You do look tired (surprise, surprise) -- do remember to caretake yourself in all this. There's no way around the fact that it all does suck, but prayers and love and good wishes going to you and your family -- I hope they soften the suckiness for all of you.
