UPDATE
My back is finally getting better! After two surgeries in my youth, you'd think I'd know how to take care of it right? But I had slacked in my walking and that was lame of me! So I'm back to good health and thank you all for your wonderful emails/comments!

ALMOST DONE
I've only got one sleeve left on Bam's sweater. It's from a Rowan pattern book to give my brain a rest from the creating process and ya know what? I think it's gonna look okay. Kind of on the boring side...but hey, that's alright.

UNCOMMON
I'm committed to go on Uncommon Threads with the incomparable Myra Wood! We're filming it on August 7th and yours truly will have to brush up on her crochet skills (think hook challenged person here) but with Myra's unusual approach and freeform techniques....I'm sure I'll be fine and I'm very excited! I'll be involved in this project ...isn't it cool?

LOG CABIN
Speaking of Myra and freeform...one of the techniques in freeform knitting is log cabin knitting. You can see it used in the new Mason Dixie knitting book and I'm gonna make a couple of baby blankets using that technique for some upcoming babies and young infants in my life. It's all garter stitch and yet it keeps you interested! I love it! Plus one could go mad with a Mondrian style piece couldn't one? hmmmm...yes, one must find those primary colors and one must knit a Mondrian blanket for a special baby! (all spoken like Inspector Clouseau!)

POD PEOPLE
Our video podcast, Rock n Roll TV has signed up with the number one major podshow network, podshow.com. They're launching the network publicly in the next few weeks so that will be exciting to see what happens. So far, nothing much has changed for us but we're happy to be part of a family of shows like the Dawn and Drew show and Rock and Roll Geek and ...well, there is that possibility that we may even get to make a living out of it! Imagine that! Making a living doing something creative and fun!!!!! (not to mention I could get a lot more knitting done again!)

FRIDAY GOOF
Well, it's super duper hot here in LA yet again and we're gonna head out to the coolest place in town...the movies! Yep. I read the book and thought it was very funny so we're off to see The Devil Wears Prada.

Chaos prone?

Okay. So I've had a series of 'accidents'...does it really have to mean anything? I mean, maybe I just had a weird period of being clumsy or something?

First, the day before we left for Vloggercon (San Francisco), I sliced my knuckles open on a glass pitcher I was washing in the sink. Bam grabbed hold of me and started bandaging it up tight to stop the blood. After about 5 minutes, I started to go doooowwwwn. Yep. I fainted. But he managed to get me to the bed so I was safe! ha!

So no knitting, typing or playing guitar for me! But I'm back now.

Oh, speaking about backs, then.........I was fine but I somehow managed to injure my back to the tune of a slipped disc. Couldn't even walk. Was totally crying and freaking out. (I've had back surgeries.) Finally, a friend reminded us of good ole Advil. So Bam went out and got me some and I started popping them. That took the edge off and I slept for what seems like two days straight.

Much much much better today! But.......then............I got out of bed this morning and the last thing I remember was walking into the bathroom but feeling pretty shaky. Then Bam was leaning over me and I was on the bedroom floor where apparently, I had collapsed in a cold faint! HOLY CRAP! Managed to bruise my foot, face and hip bone! I guess that much advil in a raw vegan body just doesn't add up to having good blood pressure in the morning!

I'm sharing all of this because I actually think it's hilarious. I am laughing as I write it. I mean, c'mon. I've had all the accidents a person can have in one year in the space of like two weeks! Sheesh!

Everything is healing now. My fingers, my back.......and my bruises aren't too bad. But I think I shall avoid all ladders and black cats for a while.

Girly Moment

Girl Talk
It's not very often that I go mad for anything makeup related...but our adventures in the life of raw have brought me to using mineral makeup and I just have to talk about it! I am one of those people who cannot stand to put anything on my face that has a smell, scent, fragrance or perfume. It drives me nuts to wear lipstick or lip gloss if there is the tiniest hint of smell associated with it! Ewwwwwwwwwwww! So....with that in mind, I am in LOVE with this lip gloss: Lip Sheer from La Bella Donna. It ain't cheap and I'm totally not on their payroll. Just figured some of you might have the same dilemma as me and want to look and feel nice but it's hard to choose when the prices are so high these days.

I also got the Loose Mineral Powder and apply it wet with a sponge. Nothing short of an amazing finish. Just very very nice and lovely on the skin! Wow. I feel like all of you will say, Share, but we have known about this stuff for years, where have you been? Well, if it's common knowledge, then I apologize. I do tend to live in a television-free bubble of an existence! ha!

On the ultra cheap and lovely smelling makeup removal side....I now use Organic Non-GMO coconut oil to remove my eye makeup. I know I said I hated smelly stuff....but this is naturally smelly and it is so nice!

Okay. That's it. I'm going back to being my usual punk ass smart ass self now..........

Beachy n Bitchin'!

Ten Years!
Thank you for all the lovely and wonderful wishes for our tenth anniversary! We had a perfect day...we went to the beach and hung out ....went to dinner at Juliano's which was nothing short of fantastic and pretty much out of this world. If you ever want to go there and you're not too sure about this 'raw' thing,....just have the blueberry cheesecake. It's UNBELIEVABLE. That and the green curry pasta. Wow. Don't worry........there's no cheese in the cheese cake and no pasta in the pasta. Just pure goodness. Nothing cooked. But man........the FLAVORS!!!!!!!!! unreal.

Anyway.......we did a little shopping and stopped in and saw our pals who live close to the beach......and well, words don't do the day justice. It was brimming with love and the memories that two people have after ten years. Awesome.

Got both things and more from Anonymous on the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Killer shop with verrrrrrrrrry cool clothes! Oh, the funniest part? At the bottom of the tshirt, it says "Long Live Disco"....Somehow...I just find the whole shirt brilliant and fun!

I commandeered Bam's Canon camera and finally took a shot of him at the beach....

I still think he is the hottest guy on the planet!

Oh.....and he insisted we get me this dress......which I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (especially with my skull converse!)

Hot, hot, hot
In spite of our heat wave, I have been working on Bam's sweater (if you know me, you know that after all this knittin'....he still doesn't actually have a sweater from me!)...got the front and back done...started on one sleeve! hooray!!!!!!!!!!

70 foot semi
The trucker called today and we gave him directions to our teeny tiny street to deliver a bunch of stuff I inherited from my mom and dad. Totally funny when he turned on our street...the neighbors all came out to assist! (super friendly!) He eventually made the turn and we unloaded everything. Most of it is going to a friend's garage (we have zero space)...and the rest is in our shed. But in two weeks or so......(drum fill please....) the PIANO ARRIVES. I cannot wait now!

Great Date Flick
Oh, if you're like me and you drop everything to go see a romantic french film, this movie will make the grade. Very fun and very light and very romantic! Russian Dolls. Much better than that ole Da Vinci Code....which totally sucks if you've read the book. arrrrr!
