I went, I hung, I met, I smiled....TNNA was fun!
First off, I took the Amtrak train from LA to San Diego. Folks, this is the way to travel down there. It was so relaxing. No traffic jams, no car parking to deal with, no stressed out arrival ...in fact, the trip was so wonderful ...Sitting in my seat and looking out the window at the beach...ahhhh. It was fantastic! So I arrived in San Diego very mellow, and very ready to check out all the excitement of TNNA.
The first night there I had an author dinner to go to with my editor, Melanie Falick and authors on her imprint: Leigh Radford, Teva Durham, Mel Clark (knit2gether), Susan (Greetings from the Knit Cafe), Joan McGowan-Michael, Norah Gaughn and a few others who ...forgive me ...now I can't remember their names! Talk about a bunch of talented and creative people at one table! I was overwhelmed!!!!
I got to see the unbound version of my book!!! I must say...it is very exciting and terrifying all at once. I have been preparing postcards to send out once the date is closer....oh hurry up ...March 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The show itself was fun and I met Wenlan, aka Twinkle which was definitely my highlight. Her new book is amazing (I now have an autographed copy...the last one they had which they offered and said, "Oh, but it's a dirty book"...to which I replied..."That's okay. I'm a dirty girl!" ha! Wenlan is incredibly humble and funny and need I add...an incredible designer.

(Megan and Wenlan aka Twinkle)
The gang from the Stitch Cafe all took the train back to LA together.
Wow.

AKA THE STITCH CAFE GANG!!!!!

As a devoted fan of Steve Madden, I was thrilled to see they've joined the bandwagon that Converse and Adidas have started...Design Your Own! Yes, now you can design your own sexy shoes. Madness dahling. If they'd only offer leopard print as a 'color' choice instead of those boring solids...hmmmm......
That sounds like so much fun -- and, wow! talk about a great group of talented designers!

Amtrak is the best! I've traveled to TX, CA & WA from MN, along with numerous short trips to WI.
It looks like you had a blast.
